Welcome or Welcome Back for another week. The last few weeks have been crazy with my family, but I keep going on this journey. So, with that being said, let’s get started on this week’s 52 Ancestors in 52-week challenge blog. This week, the topic that I am going to discuss is curious. What does that mean in family history, well let’s find that out.

When I think about the word CURIOUS a lot of things comes to my mind. Like whom exactly is my uncle Scott’s Biological father or how far back I can go on both sides of my family tree. While doing research on who is in your family and where you come from, you will find out things that you did not know about and that’s ok we are all learning new things about those people we call family and our ancestors. Like I said in the beginning of this blog the last few weeks have been crazy. I do not want to go into great detail, but my family did lose someone that is why I talked about one of the things I was curious about and that is the biological father of my uncle Scott.

Darrell Scott Webb

Darrell Scott Webb is my mother’s brother. He was born in 1949 and he just passed away on January 10, 2022, at the age of 72. His Mother Maxine (Miki) is my grandmother, but his biological father is not my grandfather. Scott was adopted by my grandfather Cliff when Scott almost 3 years old. Cliff took Scott in as his own son and continued to see him that way even after Cliff and Miki got divorced in 1972. Scott was the oldest of three siblings. Scott has two half-sisters (my mom Melanie and My aunt Jaime).

While doing all of this research on my family tree especially on my mom’s side. I could never find anything out about who exactly was my uncle Scott’s biological father until the day I saw his birth certificate and that is when I found out his name which was Benton Allan Webb. I knew the last name was Webb but that is all I knew. I was curious to find out the biological father’s name just so I could find out if my uncle Scott had any half siblings on his father’s side. After putting the name on Ancestry.com I still couldn’t find much information on if Benton got remarried after he and my grandmother divorced but hopefully with more time and more research I can find out if my uncle has more half-siblings.

This week’s Ancestor or should I say family member was my Uncle Scott. This week I couldn’t figure out what or who to write about and that is when I decided to write about someone that just passed away. It was kind of hard to figure out how to write about being curious or who to choose to write about. This last month has been challenging because this has been the first time I have ever done this 52 Ancestors in 52-week challenge. When I look at the blogs I feel like I am doing it wrong but hopefully I can get to it and figure out how I am supposed to do in these challenges. I just wanted to thank everyone for reading this blog and hopefully I can do better next blog.
